Defying Gravity

I have a slight obsession with the song “Defying Gravity” from the Broadway show Wicked. Quick synopsis of Wicked: It’s the story of Glinda the Good Witch and the Wicked Witch of the West from The Wizard of Oz. It explains how they became the good/bad witch and what happened before Dorothy came to Oz. I haven’t seen Wicked yet, but if anyone wants to donate to the “Send me to see Wicked” fund, I would love you forever 🙂

If you listen to the song, really listen to the words. It’s a really inspirational song that makes me realize that even though I may be alone in my journey, some of the best journeys must be taken alone. The song also talks about how if people love you, they will support you in your journey instead of trying to bring you down. I won’t post the lyrics, but I’ll embed the video for you if you’ve never heard it before. This song really lifts my spirits when I need them.

By the way, Happy New Year! I hope all your dreams and resolutions manifest in 2012. I know mine will 🙂

Ok, so it won’t let me embed the video… so here’s a link: Defying Gravity
